The Telugu New Year "UGADI"

The Telugu New Year, the first and foremost festival celebrated by telugu people.
A special dish is prepared by these people this day in which all the tastes will be included.Usually all these tastes together they say it as "shadruchulu" which means shad=6 ruchulu=tastes. The day is started with wearing new clothes and visiting temple and taking blessings from parents and big. Then they take the special dish made up of tamarind juice, jaggery, neem flower, coconut, banana, dry mango etc..very tasty, hmmm yummy dish. The ingredients differ at times.

My favourite dish. One special reason to prepare this dish is that life consists of all the tastes like bitter, sweet, sour etc..Excluding this dish they make other dishes like "paravanam","pulihora".

We at home enjoy a lot .We try doing all good things that day so that the total year will be good.

"Happy Ugadi"
"Ugadi Shubhakanshalu"

Colorful Festival Holi

Hi All

The festival of colors HOLI
My experience with Holi from childhood are,I used to wear old clothes during night.Once i getup in the morning my frndz in our colony would be ready to attack me.At first to start is a problem for everybody but once we start we would njoy a lot .With all colors mixed with water. We used to add color in huge drum.we would be exhauted, hungry, cold after fews hours. After palying it used to take hours to clean ourselves. After all this we used to have lunch with all special traditional items. In that way i used to celebrate holi.
The reason was the festival HOLI was first celebrated when the evil HOLIKA and the king HIRANYAKASYAB was destroyed by Lord Vishnu's devotee PRAHALAD(son of Hiranyakashyab) ,they have tried to burn the little boy live.Another reason being getting the prosperity in life that comes with the harvest season for the hindu people. The time when it is celebrated is the day after the full moon in early March or April every year.Playing with colors is the tradition of celebrating this festival HOLI in INDIA.
These days everybody prefer playing with natural colors made at home instead of harmful chemical colors. The natural colors help our skin not to get destroyed from chemicals. The stlye of playing with colors may be in different ways, either they throw color powder or apply colors mixed with water. There are water guns.pichkari's to throw colors on others. All religions in India celebrate this festival. There is no age limit also for this festival, evrybody small, big play this festival.
Be very careful while applying the colors they may go in teeth, eyes etc.. in exictment,so play safe and healthy.

Wish You'll A Very Happy n Safe Holi
